Kathy Fassihi, born in Iran, and raised in Canada, received her bachelor of fine arts at Parsons New School of Design, in Paris, France in 2011. Her deep cultural roots form the core of her artistic vision and creative pursuits. She has also been greatly influenced by the multiple geographical regions in which she has lived and therefore has had an opportunity to experience these unique cultures first-hand. Her designs can be described as a sophisticated fusion between the east and the west — between modern lines found in European styles, and traditional persian aesthetics. Kathy courageously blends these often times contradictory cultural constructs to create an eclectic and innovative style. She launched Langardi in 2011 and today it is identified as a high-end prêt-a-porter women’s wear, illuminating the beauty of the female form within the confines of cultivated silhouttes and edgy seaming.
